Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
I love the work I do
I am honored people are willing to come into my office and share their struggles and triumphs with me. I work to create a warm, safe place for everyone. Whether you are dealing with anxiety , depression, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss (from the death of a loved one, relationship breakup, job loss etc.) or some other issue entirely, I’m here to help you figure out what you want and need to get back on track and onto being the person you want to be and have the healthy relationships you desire.
Maybe you’d like to be more at ease and confident during social and work interactions or more assertive and less reactive and calm in the face of adversity. Perhaps you’ve decided it’s time to deal with your depression or anxiety or put traumatic experiences into perspective and heal old wounds. I’ve helped hundreds of people do all these in my 19+ years of practice. Do you want to travel the path of healing? If you are willing I can gently lead you through the journey. As your therapist, I will be there every step of the way; hearing you, guiding you, teaching you new skills and offering comfort and whatever else you need along the way.
Growth and change can sometimes be difficult and painful, and at other times, gratifying and exhilarating. Together we can make your experience meaningful and enriching. I am trained in a number of therapeutic theories and approaches, and I take from them what works for each individual client. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Polyvagal Theory, a specific type of Emotion Regulation that works with the nervous system and is based on neuroscience. I draw from principles of mindfulness and non-violent communication and use writing, artwork, books and mindfulness apps in sessions.
I am accepting new clients, and take the following insurances:
